Barberino's Castle


Only 500 mt far from our B&B, the Caste of Barberino is the most ancient castle near Florence. Built in the XI century by the Cattani Family from Cambiase, it has been destroyed in 1351 by the Florentine Republic and then rebuilt again in the XVII century by the descendants of the Cattani Family respecting the original characteristics and the Italian Garden.

The Mugello Area


This area near Florence is full of history, art and nature. Start your visit from Scarperia "Terra nuova" founded in 1306 by Florence where you can visit the Palazzo dei Vicari, the Museum of "Ferri Taglienti" and artisan labotarories.
Your next stop will be S.Agata where you can visit the amazing Pieve Romanica, the archeologic center and some of the "Ville Medicee" like that one of Cafaggiolo and Castello del Trebbio, from 2013 part of the Unesco's Heritage.
After S. Agata you'll stop in Vicchio, where Giotto was born and where you can visit the Museum of Arte Sacra of Beato Angelico.
Conitnue your excursion to Borgo San Lorenzo where you have to visit the Pieve di San Lorenzo famous for the Madonna probably made by Giotto, then stop at Villa Pecori Giraldi to visit the Museum of the "Manifattura Chini".
Your last stop will be San Piero a Sieve where you can visit the "Convento di Bosco ai Frati" built following the project of Michelozzo, committed by Cosimo de' Medici.

Bilancino Lake and Oasi di Gabbianello


The Bilancino lake is an arificial lake ended in 1996, that hold 69 cubic meters of water, 31 mt depth and with a total surface of 5 kmq near the Castle of Barberino.
Realized to solve the water problems af Florence Area, the lake is today a touristic area where is possible to practice many activities like Sport Fishing, Canoe, Sailing and Windsurf, Bike or where you can realx and take a sunbath in the equipped beach areas.
A part of the lake became a Natual Reserve named "Gabbianello" managed by the WWF open for visit, activities and laboratories to know better the environment.

Florence is one of the most important town in the world, known for the masterpieces of Dante, Brunelleschi, Michelangelo, Leonardo preserved in the museums, churches and palaces.
World heritage site since 1982 it's only 20 min. by train or car away from our B&B.

Lucca


Lucca retains the charm of a small and ancient city. Surrounded by towering Renaissance walls, medieval streets flanked by towers and charming Romanesque churches.
Easily accessible by car in 50 minutes.

Pisa and his Tower


Pisa, known all over the world for his leaning tower 56mt tall is one of the Unesco Heritage Site for her uniqueness. The Tower is located in Piazza dei Miracoli where you can visit the Cathedral and the Baptistery.
Easily reachable in 50 min. by car from our B&B.

Siena


Siena is the medieval town well conserved in the world.
The characteristic colours of the buildings, the streets and the traditions like the "Palio" made Siena the medieval city par excellence and the best preserved in the world today.
During the Palio the different "contrade" in town challenge each other with an horse ride in Piazza del Campo, the Palio take place 2 times a year, on the 2nd July and on the 16th August.
You can reach Siena in about 60 min. by car from our B&B.

San Gimignano


Famous for its medieval towers that stand out on its landscape, declared World Heritage Site, retains its authentic medieval feature.
To visit the Piazza della Cisterna, with its well dating back to 1273, the Piazza del Duomo and the Piazza del Popolo dominated by the 56 meter high tower and from where you can enjoy breathtaking views.
Easily reachable by car in about 50 minute.

Rent a Mountain-Bike

with the possibility to do a guided excursion to let you discover most hidden paths, where you can admire the nature and the landscape, historical paths that trace the paths of Monte Giovi partisan and traits of the Gothic Line, as well as routes that evoke the times of the Etruscans and Romans Way of the Gods.

Wine Tasting

At Castello di Cafaggiolo property of the Medici Family with visit of the wineyard and the cellar and tasting of Pinot Nero wine.
The wine production has been documented since 1465, when it was owned by Lorenzo Il Magnifico. Today the tradition continues, with 25.000 bottles of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, produced in a strictly natural way.
Here you can live a unique experience, which will let you discover the vineyards and the cellars, where the production process takes place.
