Itineraries & Activities

The Via degli Dei

An ancient route crossing the Apennines and connecting Northern to Central Italy. Traveled since antiquity by Etruscans, Romans, and famous travelers like Dante and Goethe, it is today one of Tuscany's most fascinating trekking trails. Through forests, valleys, and spectacular panoramas you'll encounter historic sites like Passo della Futa and remains of the Via Flaminia Militare, as well as medieval villages and ancient hospices. A journey through nature and history, enriched by the authentic flavors of the Apennine region.

Castello di Barberino

Located just 500 meters from Vignolino, Castello di Barberino is the oldest fortress north of Florence. Built in the 11th century by the Cattani di Cambiase family, it was destroyed in 1351 by the Florentine Republic and rebuilt in the 17th century as a noble residence, preserving its evocative Italian garden.

The Mugello

A land rich in history, art, and pristine nature at Florence's doorstep. Historic villages like Scarperia, famous for its knife-making tradition, Vicchio, birthplace of Giotto, and Borgo San Lorenzo with its Romanesque church of San Lorenzo can be found here. The territory also hosts important Medici Villas, now UNESCO heritage sites.

Bilancino Lake & Gabbianello Oasis

The perfect getaway for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts. The lake offers stunning landscapes, panoramic trails, and the oasis is an important protected area for bird watching. Ideal for a day trip combining relaxation and adventure.

McArthurGlen Outlet Barberino

Find the best international brands at discounted prices. A perfect opportunity for convenient shopping of fashion, accessories, and more in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Florence

Just 20 minutes from the B&B, Florence is one of the world's most important art cities. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it preserves masterpieces by artists like Dante, Giotto, Brunelleschi, and Michelangelo, among museums, historic palaces, and monumental squares.

Lucca, Pisa, Siena & San Gimignano

A short distance from Vignolino are some of Tuscany's most charming cities. Lucca enchants with its Renaissance walls and medieval streets, Pisa is famous worldwide for its Leaning Tower and spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli. Siena preserves its extraordinary medieval heritage and is celebrated for the Palio, while San Gimignano, with its iconic towers, offers one of the region's most breathtaking views.
